An exhibition of selected works from the collections of the Paisley Art Institute and the Glasgow Art Club.
A revealing exhibition tracing the rich artistic history that intertwines these two historic institutions from their respective 19th century formation through to the current day. A history that also intermeshes closely with the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. The exhibition reveals how those who were mentored or influenced by prominent past artists then went on to become successful artists in their own right and in turn mentor and influence others.
The exhibition brings together works held by or loaned to the two respective institutions. It includes works by, and also depicting, various ‘Glasgow Boys’ as well as some of their tutors. A not to be missed fascinating insight.
