Sheena F Phillips

Artist Member

Sheena was brought up in Ayrshire and studied chemistry at Edinburgh but soon after was accepted by Edinburgh College of Art where she gained a degree in furniture design. She was Craftsman-in-residence in Linlithgow then employed as a furniture designer until she moved to Haddington and re-found her love of painting.

She likes to prepare sketches on-site and loves to wander round cities to see what catches her eye. Dramatic skies have been important to her over the years. The effects of light play a large part in her continuing documentation of the reconstruction of the St James Centre, Edinburgh.

She enjoys tutoring and demonstrating over Scotland. Her pictures are shown in galleries over Scotland and she has shown in many juried shows including the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, Royal Institute of Watercolour painters, Paisley Art Institute, Aberdeen artists, and N. Ayrshire Council.
