Lynn Howarth

Artist Member

Lynn is an award winning Scottish artist who specialises in the medium of pastel for her figurative, portrait and landscape work. She graduated from Grays School of Art, Aberdeen in 1979. Although she enjoyed drawing and painting and the weekly life drawing classes, she decided to follow a career path in Graphic Design and Printmaking. After graduating she worked as a designer on many major international brands until she started her own design business in 1999. In 2012 she returned to her roots and started drawing and painting once more. She now works full time as an artist from her home studio in Stepps, Glasgow.
In the past 7 years her work has steadily gained recognition with many galleries stocking her work and through exhibitions both solo and mixed, her work is reaching a wider audience. She also teaches part time at Strathclyde University teaching the Stage 1 Drawing and Painting, Life Drawing and Learn to Draw classes and is regularly asked to do demonstrations for various art groups all over Scotland. She also teaches a Purely Pastels class at a private art school in a Milngavie and teaches pastel workshops abroad, most recently in France and The Netherlands. Lynn is an elected member of Glasgow Art Club, Paisley Art Institute and Glasgow Society of Women Artists and is a Signature Member of the Pastel Guild of Europe and Associate Member of the Pastel Society of America.

Her works are collected by international art collectors as far afield as Australia, Bermuda, USA, Canada, Israel, France, India and The Netherlands.
