Jamie Tahir

I am a figurative artist currently studying at the Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Art to further my understanding, knowledge and skills in the practice of traditional drawing painting. Having been inspired from a young age by the old masters, I wanted to be able to create masterpieces just as they did and was finally given the opportunity to learn their way of creating art last year. This piece is a copy of a male figure by the Italian artist, Arturo Viligiardi and demonstrates the techniques used by artists of the time. I love this piece as after a year of hard studying, I am finally able to recreate the pieces that inspired me from a young age and cannot wait to carry on my learning and developing the skills I have attained.
