It is with heartfelt sadness we have to announce the passing of Helen Turner.
Her funeral will take place on Monday 17th April, at 12.00 noon, at Ayr Crematorium. Afterwards, tea at Lochgreen House Hotel , Troon. Our sincere condolences to her family at this time.
How we will sorely miss our beloved diplomate and past president who finally lost her battle with cancer! She was a beacon of positivity, always optimistic and kind to all she met. She graced the Paisley Art Institute as a hard working president at the start of the century. She put in years of help at Maclaurin Art Galleries in Ayr. She was a brilliant designer of fine carpets, at Stoddarts, and her work spanned the old traditional methods through to modern times where every colour of yarn was noted in pixels.
She found time, also to become a fine painter in oils. She skillfully portrays nature in Impressionist style. I often marvel at how well she can paint water and its reflections.
Her approach was always heralded by her habitual happy whistling.!
