Wendy Greig
I have always had a love of art, I painted constantly when I was young but stopped when motherhood, and life in general, took precedence. I am self-taught and have learned so many new skills from the many members, and demonstrations given at the Troon Art Club over the past five years.
My passion is portraiture, and I work predominantly with soft pastels. I love the tactile nature of pastels, they blend perfectly for skin texture and tone, and the colours are incredibly vibrant. I am fascinated by different cultures from around the globe, which is reflected in my choice of subjects. As the saying goes “a picture paints a thousand words”. I want people who view my portraits to be drawn in by the subject, create curiosity as to their background and history, and ultimately to feel a connection with them.
