Simone Whiteford
With a background in Architecture Simone uses laser cutting and water jet cutting technologies to create her framed and free-standing sculptural work.
She defines her work as Conceptional Serialism and has an interest in Surrealism and the unexpected. After becoming a Mum, Simone adapted her working methods and focuses now on large format digital art.
The images are initially hand-drawn and afterwards transformed into digital artwork. Her work can be seen at annual exhibitions, solo exhibitions and in several galleries throughout Scotland.
In 2016 she was awarded The Bessie Scott Award followed by The Art Hire Framing Award in 2017 at the Paisley Art Institute Annual Exhibition.
In summer 2017 she was an artist in residence at the Maclaurin Gallery in Rozelle House, Ayr.
