I have been an Artist working in Scotland for 12 years and I am interested in the chaotic patterns that exist without human invention. Trees are a perfect example of this and I find drawing allows me to convey them satisfactorily. Forms are repeated at different scales and yet are never exactly the same. These structures are also repeated in other organisms and life processes, for example our lungs. Both are searching for the gases they need for life. In fact, trees existed before us and have created the atmosphere we need and we in turn create the gases that trees need. The delicate balance of these gases has become more important than ever. The threat of Covid is also something that has made me thankful for my lungs and how they work.
