Rosi Nyamakanga

I am a multimedia artist based in Glasgow. I trained at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee and then gained my Masters at Manchester Metropolitan University.
My paintings are informed by my immediate environment and my response to it through colour, emotion and movement. I paint and recreate the places in my mind I have been to, not the representational so much as the memories, the emotion and the feelings they evoke through colour and line. I work primarily in acrylics on canvas and board, layering up, scraping down, building a narrative history into the physical painting.
Throughout the last 25 years I have exhibited and sold my work in the UK, Europe and Zimbabwe.
My work features in many private collections. My last solo exhibition was at Clydebank Museum and Art Gallery .
