Morven Naismith

I am interested in the interaction between the built environment, and our landscape – geometric forms contrasting with the organic world of nature. Drawing inspiration from these sources, I aim to re-create an abstract experience of colour, texture and form- which might trigger memories or a sense of place. Often exploring repeating patterns or forms – I create drawings, layered collages or prints, incorporating and recycling images, scrap paper, photos, scans and found materials. I like to exploit the inherent beauty or properties of materials or colours, and subject matter can be both objective or have personal significance.
