Anastasia Lennon

I studied Drawing and Painting at GSA, graduating with BA(HONS) in Fine Art in 1992. I have worked in a variety of jobs since then and am currently working as a lecturer in the faculty of supported learning at an FE college. I paint in the kitchen at home and my house is over-run with canvases.
I am submitting two small works completed this year, using mixed media. I have been painting a persistent feeling, that cannot be adequately explained in words, of timelessness, a mistrust of reality as we know it. I try to interpret life, not as a sequence of events, but as a collection of non-chronological memories I am building this collection of memories with familiar imagery of natural features of landscape, contrasted by sights from the modern world – usually they are simultaneously nostalgic and subliminally post-apocalyptic.
