Paul Kennedy - Artist Member
![]()
Born in Glasgow in 1981, Paul graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2004. In 2005 Paul got a WASPS organisation studio and after a few years of doing various art related jobs he became a full-time painter and worked in his merchant city studio until he moved the studio into his home in 2022.
Much of his work has been inspired by the city and escaping the city to coastal getaways depicting a narrative between the people and their surroundings. His paintings are strongly connected to his own experiences and the visual delights that catch his eye. He believes anything can be a painting however it's only a select few ideas make it onto the canvas and for that to happen there has to be a certain feeling and desire to paint it.
Paul mainly paints Coastal influenced subjects and Mediterranean subjects however he still loves to do the occasional figurative painting. "We all have these moments and histories which one day will be lost. I make paintings that depict a narrative people have with their surroundings"
