Gillian Greer Park - Artist Member
I am a Scottish artist and designer, living and working in Greenock, on the Clyde coast. After achieving my Batchelor of Fine Art degree from Glasgow School of Art, I worked, firstly, in community arts and then in state education. I worked in mainstream education and also in schools for children with visual and hearing impairments. Now retired, I currently run classes at the Stables Studio in Gourock and at the Kilmacolm Art Class. I also teach junior classes at Prominence Academy of Performing Arts in Greenock.
I have been involved in set and prop design for local theatre for over 20 years working with Greenock Light Opera Club, GIP, Laughing Stock, Kayos, Prominence and others. My art covers a variety of subject matter and approaches, but I mostly work in oils or acrylics.
The beautiful scenery of the west of Scotland provides me with endless source material; the majority of my work is centred around Inverclyde, the Mull of Kintyre and the Isle of Bute. Much of my still life painting reflects a love of antique china, glassware and fabrics. My involvement in local theatre has also been a rich source of inspiration. My work can be found at the Seagull Gallery, Gourock, the SSA website, the PAI website and on line at www.weegillygee.com.
