Valerie Beattie - Artist Member

Valerie Beattie was born in Glasgow, and is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art. She has been teaching Art & Design in Renfrewshire for over twenty years while also continuing to develop her own artwork. Valerie takes inspiration from her immediate surroundings and from her travels around Scotland, particularly along the west coast.

Valerie’s still life work reflects her continuing fascination with the simple but essential elements of shape, pattern and colour. Influenced by the colours and textures of Scotland, her landscape work interprets the shape of the landscape and evokes the feel of our wonderfully varied climate.
