Carolyn A Wallace - Artist Member
Carolyn works in layers, acrylics and water-based oils suiting her style and love of colour and texture. Increasingly, she is drawn to working on a larger scale, her current work tending to be land/seascape orientated, inspired by west coast trips in her caravan. She also enjoys painting floral subjects, including "weeds", an appreciation of which was encouraged over lockdown.
Carolyn exhibits annually at the North Ayrshire Open Art Exhibition (Harbour Arts Centre Trustees' Prize, 2013), Troon Art Club exhibitions (Charles Summers' Award for Seascapes 2013, 2016, 2019 and 2024, New Cunninghame Open Art exhibition and the Pittenweem Arts Festival. She has been privileged to exhibit in her own name with Open Studios, Ayrshire, The Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine and the Tolbooth, Kirkcudbright.
In 2014 she experienced the opportunity of a lifetime, to exhibit in the beautiful town of Vadstena in Sweden. She is also an enthusiastic contributor to regular local group exhibitions for the benefit of Save the Children, the Accord and Ayrshire Hospices, Hansel Village, Portencross Castle and Ayrshire & Arran NHS Health Board and has exhibited with the Law Society of Scotland and the Royal Faculty of Procurators, both events having their charitable purpose.
