I mainly paint landscapes in oil. Arran is a favourite location and I have painted Blackwaterfoot Beach in all weathers and seasons. This piece is of the beach in January, and I was inspired by the reflections of the oystercatchers on the wet sand.

My painting of the Borders farm was also created in January and the colours of the winter clouds attracted my attention.
